  • Is your child experiencing:

    • Difficulties in reading, writing, math, or other areas of learning?

    • Emotional and/or behavioral challenges that are impacting school performance?

A psychoeducational assessment evaluates your child’s intellectual, academic, and socio-emotional functioning to help identify learning differences or other factors that may be affecting their performance at school. These may include learning disorders, giftedness, ADHD, intellectual developmental disorder, or generalized anxiety disorders.

  • A neuropsychological assessment includes all aspects of a psychoeducational assessment, such as evaluating intellectual, academic, and socio-emotional functioning. It also examines domains such as attention, executive functioning, visual and verbal memory, and fine motor skills.

These assessments provide a comprehensive understanding of how brain functioning may be impacting your child’s thinking, reasoning, and learning. They are appropriate for children of all ages and can be particularly helpful for youth with a history of neurological or medical conditions (e.g., genetic conditions, prematurity, seizure disorders).

  • Is your child experiencing:

    • Challenges with social interaction and communication?

    • Patterns of behaviour that are restricted and/or repetitive?

Autism evaluations focus on understanding your child’s developmental history, behavioural functioning, social skills and communication. They are often combined with a neuropsychological or psychoeducational assessment to provide a comprehensive understanding of your child’s unique profile.

Multidisciplinary early assessments for young children (age 5 and under) can be arranged. These assessments would include collaboration with a speech-language pathologist (SLP). Please contact us for more information.

  • Dr. Borsatto also provides adulthood transition (CLBC eligibility) assessments. When appropriate, she can complete the relevant sections of the Disability Tax Credit (DTC) form.

Please note: She does not provide medical-legal or custody assessments.
